About us

A small agency, on purpose.

Peaceful Home Care is based in Manchester and serves the towns around it. We are locally owned and owner-operated, which means the person responsible for the care is the person you speak to.

Why we started, and why we have stayed small

Peaceful Home Care grew out of a simple conviction: that most older adults would rather stay in the home they know, and that with the right help most of them can. Our name is the promise — peace of mind for the family, and peace at home for the person being cared for.

We deliberately keep our client list small enough that the owner knows every household by name and every caregiver by temperament. That is what makes it possible to match people carefully, to keep the same caregiver on the same schedule, and to answer the phone ourselves when something changes.

Care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, at 241 New State Rd., Manchester, CT 06042.

What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away.

  • Consistency before convenience

It would be easier for us to send whoever is free. We do not, because the whole value of home care disappears when the person at the door is a stranger again.

  • Say what is true

If a family needs more help than we can safely provide, we say so and point them somewhere better. We would rather lose the work than get it wrong.

  • The house belongs to them

We follow the household's habits and preferences — where things live, when the day starts, how much company is wanted and when to leave someone in peace.

  • Look after the caregivers

Steady schedules, honest hours and someone who picks up the phone. Caregivers who are treated well stay, and that is what keeps clients settled.

Who we send

How we choose caregivers

Skills can be taught. What we interview for is patience, honesty and attentiveness — whether someone notices that the milk has gone off, that a walk was slower than last week, that a normally talkative person has gone quiet.

Before care begins you meet the caregiver we have matched to your parent. If the fit is not right, tell us and we will change it. No awkwardness, no argument.

Screening, background checks, certifications, licensing and insurance details to be confirmed by the owner before publication.
